Meet Our Crew

Propel tutors are not just students. We are active members of the academic and scientific communities who put the fundamentals that we teach into practice every single day.

Each tutor at Propel has their own hourly rate, determined by experience, education, and tutoring background. Rates may vary between tutors. All tutor rates are presented when a student is choosing their tutor, and will be confirmed with you by email once chosen. Once a student begins working with a tutor, that particular tutor's hourly rate for that specific student will never increase, even if it increases for new clients in the future. Tutor rates can be found on the back of each tutor's info card on this page, and will be presented again when you are choosing your tutor.

As long as I can remember, I have been passionate about environmental and human health. What began with children’s encyclopedias on the ocean and the human body has grown into working in disadvantaged healthcare settings while actively studying how human activity directly shapes climate, ecosystems, and our own health. I love tutoring because it lets me share that passion—whether it’s simplifying a tough concept or helping someone feel more confident before an exam. My goal is always to make learning feel approachable, engaging, and even enjoyable.

Even as a little kid, I've always loved building things and figuring out how something worked. Now well into my engineering degree, I still get excited when something I learn helps me understand my world a little bit better, whether it be something I directly learned in class (how much will a beam deflect under X force?) or an idea I can apply to my other interests (how does my hydrofoil hold me above the water?).

Our world is saturated with wonder. I believe deeply in the power of scientific discovery and human production to create systems and solutions which harness that wonder to create meaningful impact. For me, that power manifests as a passion for building systems (websites, tools, simulations, databases) which have a tangible positive impact on myself and the people around me. At root of these systems are the fundamental math and science principles which I continue to learn throughout my academic career. I founded Propel Tutoring to share my love of learning about our world, and that wonder which makes it so fascinating and beautiful, with my fellow learners. I aim to encourage curiosity and inspire innovation, helping my students find joy in their learning, and laying the foundation to help them achieve their highest goals.

Hi! My name is Clementine, and I’m from Calgary. I’m currently in my fourth year of Chemistry at the University of Alberta, with a minor in Italian Studies. I speak four languages and have always been passionate about learning languages and discovering different cultures. I especially enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for languages and creating a supportive environment where people feel comfortable learning, making mistakes, and building their confidence. Outside of my studies, I love travelling and experiencing new places and cultures.

I am fascinated by how we can use math to describe and learn about our universe. I am curious about how exploring problems from different–sometimes opposing–perspectives can help solve a simple puzzle or a complex challenge like climate change. My curiosity and never-ending questions have led me to a love of math and science. I love the way math is used to describe the world; and I love using it to turn complex problems into a series of small achievable steps. My aim is not to memorize equations and formulas but to understand where they come from and why they exist, allowing for both easier application and a shift in thinking. Looking at math as a language and the sciences as a way to understand the world has changed how I think, learn, and process in and out of the classroom. From understanding the forces at play while I rock climb or canoe, to the chemical reaction taking place when I eat, developing an understanding of math and science changed how I see, appreciate, and question the world. I love math, I love the sciences, and education is the best way I know to better the world.

I was born and raised in Edmonton, and I am currently studying engineering at the University of Alberta. I have always been drawn to math and sciences and found them to be a strong suit; however, I have taken a broad range of classes and look forward to helping students in any subjects that I can. I am motivated by progress and I hope to share this drive with students and support my community.
